LOVE IN ACTION
OUTREACH MINISTRY

Love in Action Outreach Ministry focuses on serving families in need by providing food, clothing, and other essentials. We believe by reaching out to the lost, lonely, and hurting, we can make a difference in their lives and lead them to a relationship with Jesus. Love in Action seeks to emphasize the importance of showing kindness and generosity to the poor as it is seen as lending to the LORD and promises rewards to the lender as revealed in Proverbs 19:17, He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, And He will pay back what he has given. Likewise, Matthew 25:40 teaches that when we serve and care for those in need, we are actually serving and caring for Jesus himself. It states, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” This highlights the importance of showing compassion and love to others, especially the marginalized and vulnerable. We believe that we are called to follow the Great Commission as presented in Matthew 28:18-20 to share the gospel, baptize new believers, and make disciples of all people. At IROC, we actively engage with those in need and partner with local organizations and missionaries to make a greater impact in our community and around the world.

About

Our Outreach Ministry Pastor

Michelle Humphries

In my teens, I experienced a spiritual rebirth, but it was in my twenties that I dedicated myself to outreach ministry. For over 30 years, I've utilized my talents to aid communities in need. Initially, I served as a missionary with Gerald Mayhan Ministries, engaging in outreach across various countries. In 2001, inspired during a mission trip to Guatemala, I founded Arms Outstretched Ministry, now a thriving non-profit in Northern Virginia. As the CEO, I organized monthly meals for the homeless, preached the gospel, and ran the Virginia School of Ministry, a discipleship program for young adults under the Arms Outstretched umbrella.

This nine-month program emphasized discipleship, education, and hands-on ministry training, offering specialized tracks in leadership, worship, missions, and performing arts. Accredited Biblical Studies degrees were provided through Valley Forge University. Since my ordination as an Outreach Pastor in 2014, I've shared the gospel both inside and outside the church, serving as Evangelism Director for Church on the Rock and Outreach Pastor for Triangle First Assemblies of God.

My credentials include ordination by Deliverance Temple Ministries in Indiana, being an Outreach Pastor with World Harvest Churches, an Official Commissioned Minister by Triangle First Assemblies of God, Master’s Commission Certification in Atlanta, Georgia, and membership in the Board of Ministerial Alliance Prevention of Self Abuse (MAPA) Virginia Chapter. In addition, I've been happily married to my husband, Kevin, for 19 years, residing in Stafford, VA with our teenage daughter, Taylor, and having two grown step-children, Katelynn and Haylee, with three grandchildren through Katelynn.
